You don’t need to buy a new server to use LabStats. The server components (web server, database) all install to on the same machine, which does not need to be a server-class computer. Here are our suggestions for a minimum configuration:
• Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or Server 2003.
• PIII 700 or equivalent
• 512 MB RAM
This minimum configuration will easily support up to 8 labs, with an average of 30 computers per lab. If you have more labs or computers, you will need more hardware.
**This machine should NOT be running any other web server or database server software.** |
